Every person's mind, body and soul is made up of two dimensions. Firstly there is the surface layer that we take great pride in. We build up a structured, organised front that consists of many roles and masks. A lot of time is spent on creating a solid and dignified reputation that can be seen and judged by others, and the majority of our life is spent in this dimension. There are important factors to keep in mind such as social acceptance, appropriate behaviour and language, and of course pleasing others. Naturally there is also a level of selfishness within us all, and this drives us get what we want and always want more. A house is no longer a good enough house when our neighbours have one bigger, and our bank account is no longer full enough when our friend has one that's larger. And the truth lies beneath this level in another dimension that needs only the simple things in life.
The second dimension contains a soul that stays timid underneath it all. A precious and fragile component that seeks only to experience happy moments and live with laughter and capture the moments that will last beyond all else. There is a piece inside us all that may not be the dominant force in our everyday lives, but that contains our true being and our honest emotions. To be able to find that part of you, is knowing your real self and learning what your heart really is and really wants. The truth is that not everybody comes into a relationship with that side of themselves, as their superficial surface can take over their whole lives.
It is easy to go about your life experiencing everything on your surface level. But it is braver to take time to get to know who is inside your core underneath it all. To start to feel and observe and experience the world around you with a handful of soul always intact.
Life can be so much richer in this dimension, if we could just learn to give some access to the raw person inside of you, when all is stripped away.
