The stories that lie in the palms of our hands, are one's of life, love, trust, embracing, fun, learning, hard work, and sometimes pain. From the day we are born, our small hands touch our mother in search of comfort and a connection. From that day forward, we are always comforted by a hand to hold. Later on we play clapping games with our friends, we fall and scrape our hands and we learn to get up again and rub the dust off. It is fascinating to think where your hands have been and the stories they could tell. When we grow older we learn to write and work hard in order to achieve something. The palms of our hands hold others when we embrace, when we cry, when we find a connection that is greater than skin deep. Some hands have lived to see the blood of life spilled on them, in injury or in being the helping hand. The palms of our hands carry wisdom and knowledge and experiences. They grow and discover just like us, with us.
The soles of our feet have walked a thousand miles or more, also covered with information and lessons, some hard, some helpful. Everywhere we are led to, we learn something and it makes us stronger people. We can't change or take back the steps we have taken, the paths we have walked, but we can choose to embrace the mistakes and recognise them in the future. The places we go and see shape a part of us, from the soles of our feet to the souls in our heart.
I hope you never forget the things you have learned. Everything touched by your palms and walked on your soles. May it make you stronger, wiser, a better person. May you embrace and surround yourself with only the positive in your life. And look after your soul.
