Easy To Forget

No matter how tough the challenges are that face us, it is easy to forget that they stand as lessons to show you something greater. To teach you something better. To guide you somewhere greener.

It is easy to forget that the person you love is never the person you leave. People change, and act in ways that you will never understand or recognise. The things you thought would never happen, do. The memories you have exist with someone who doesn't exist anymore. It is never the same. Even in another journey, another point in your life, no one is ever the same.

Every door that closes, leaves a brighter stream of light from a window that is nearby. So I won't cover my face with my hands in distress, blocking out the light that I may miss.

A new life awaits. And even though the memories never fade... They are gone.

Perhaps in the new life, an old friendship can bloom.
